本人很高興宣布：新設計的「香港體育記者協會」網頁正式開通。

當今世界資訊爆炸，科技日新月異，電腦已成為我們生活的一部份，香港體育記者協會亦緊隨時代的步伐不斷增值，自零三年本會網頁正式開通後，今年本會特別重新設計網頁版面及內容。

本會於一九八八年成立，明年便踏入第二十二年。二十二年在歷史的長河中彈指過去，但世界經已急劇地變化，我們體育記者的採訪工作，近年來也發生了革命性的變化，漸漸告別筆和紙的年代，被視為新聞眼睛的照相機也趨數碼化，而互聯網的出現更接近了世界的距離。

經過二十多年的發展，本會的會務不斷壯大，會員數量不斷增加，建立自己的網頁已是勢在必行，會員可透過上網，除可更快、更準確地獲知會務訊息，令執委會與會員的聯繫更加密切外，還可加強我們跟國際體記協會(AIPS)、亞洲體記聯盟(ASPU)和內地體記協會的溝通，掌握世界體壇的脈搏。

隨着二零零八年北京奧運會的落幕，本會網頁的更新更有迫切性和必要性，令我們的採訪工作更方便、快捷地走向世界的大門。

本人再次祝願，我們的新網頁開通後，內容頁頁精彩，辦得越來越成功。

I am happy to announce the launch of our brand new looking of “Hong Kong Sports Press Association” web page.

Nowadays information technology has transformed not only our means of communication but also our lives. We have to keep pace with the rapid change and hence a site that could facilitate liaisons among our members and among friends and associates form around the world at light speed.

Our Association came into existence in 1988 and, seemingly by the bat of an eye, we will enter our 22nd year as an organization next year. The past decades have been a period of momentous developments in and beyond sports. Our journalists have been swept along, rarely, barely having the time to pause and ponder the situation in constant flux, as they strive to keep pace. The press has gone, in technology alone, from the conventional camera to the digital one and the bulky desktop to the notebook computer. Enterprising reporters now write, edit and email articles and photos with dazzling speed. Satellite links to cameras and computers enable journalists to be even more mobile and make the whole world accessible a click away.

Over this time our Association has grown, attracting not only working journalists but also those affiliated to or admiring of the trade. This site will now draw them ever closer together, forging in effect an online family and furthering our contacts with the parent organization AIPS, creating a global sport reporting and writing fraternity.

The hosting of the 2008 Summer Olympiad in Beijing has given us an added impetus for we in Hong Kong
